The Most Embarrassingly Awesome Pre-Party Music

By Nathan 29 Comments

You know what I’m talking about.

It’s those songs you listen to before going out. Your pump up songs. Your going out anthems. Your jams. But not the cool ones that you and your college buddies listen to together while waiting on alcohol or rides to arrive. I’m talking about the ones you jammed out to while your door was still closed and you were “taking a shower.” Call them your pre-pump up songs, your dirty little secrets, call them whatever you want. I call them my most embarrassingly awesome pre-party songs and I’m here to share them with you.

You’re not going to understand all them. Most of you will question them as “pump up” music, but just know that I’ve pulled more girls after listening to the songs below than you will to T.I. and Lil Wayne combined.

Disclaimer: I want you to know, if you ever get caught dancing in front of the mirror to one of these songs, your life is over. Like if your buddies walk in to tell you the beer has arrived and you are taking one of these songs even half-way seriously, and they catch you, just go ahead and call your parents to come pick you up from school. You’re done.

    I would probably say the cake is my favorite part. Usually I can cook the same stuff they serve at weddings, but I can definitley not make a cake like the ones they serve! Yummy!

    I’m sad to say that I totally understand the inclusion of Take Me Home Tonight. Although I always like to listen to Raining Blood by Slayer right before leaving for a night out.

    Why isn’t Andrew W.K. on this list? Party Hard is one of the best “pump me up” songs ever, especially before drinking!

    My pre-party music is always Flogging Molly. Always. Early in the evening when I’m just relaxing before I go out, I put on Swagger and by the end I’m ready to drink a couple of oceans of beer.

    I frequently rock out, and loudly, to both “Heat of the Moment” and “Eye of the Tiger.”
    Furthermore, you should consider adding Europe’s “The Final Countdown” and Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart” to your list of embarrassing pre-party music.
    And then stop being embarrassed of your awesome.

    I’m not ashamed to admit that all of these songs are on my party list. I’ll listen to all of them in front of my friends. They almost expect it.

    @umbra deus – Rick Rolled.

    @Luke – You’re a good man. A few of these songs, I too proudly play at parties, but for safety’s sake I moved them to my pre-party list…just in case.

    #1 Stunner? I just want to know why that song is on there? lol I play that at parties and everyone eats it up! I would definitely put that on the “party” list not “pre-party”
